Award-winning adventure playgrounds

Free consultation and low-fee designs available

Adventure Playground Engineers is an award-winning London-based firm with more than 20 years' experience of developing adventure playgrounds, designing and building play structures in public parks, schools, urban environments, community gardens and tourist spots.

In recent years we have branched out into events and PR. You can find out more about APES on Facebook and Instragram.

We provide free consultations and bespoke outline designs, including a site-visit, for a small fee so please call or email us to organise an appointment. If you are looking to raise cash for your project, we might be able to give you a head-start: see fundraising for details.

No project is too big or small, and we love a challenge.

APES offers the whole package

We're proud to have won awards for our unique design and eco-friendly approach on special projects like Tumbling Bay at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

We use our expertise to consult, design, landscape and build revolutionary play structures that are perfectly tailored to your needs. We prioritise projects with the best interests of local people at heart, and use natural materials to create free outdoor play spaces for children and families.

We are committed to five principles:

  • An eco-friendly approach

  • Unique design

  • Children’s involvement

  • Community development

  • Evolution

APES understands how to design and build the perfect play space.

Our playgrounds are safe but challenging for children and young people, enhancing their physical and emotional development close to home.

We use recycled and ethically sourced material, and work beside residents and clients to develop unique site-specific designs.

Fundraising

We have teamed up with the fundraisers at A5cend to help clients raise cash for their capital projects.

  • Is your scheme aimed at local people who live in a deprived area?

  • Will it be free?

  • Will it run outside school hours?

If the answers are yes, A5cend might be able to help you.

Email playgroundengineers@gmail.com stating your needs and we will put you in touch. Alternatively visit A5cend to access further contact information.

“Imagine a play space designed to enhance its setting, a space close to nature where disabled and non-disabled children of all ages can challenge themselves as they play together. A space that is loved by the whole community and is environmentally sustainable.

That’s what we are always striving to achieve.”
